About Us:  St. Ambrose School is an elementary school with the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board located in the southeast section of Stratford.  We are a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 school with 300+students and a staff of 30.  Our school is well equipped with a gym , resource centre, and computer lab, as well as the primary computer initiative in each of our primary classrooms.  We are proud of the fact that we are a Catholic school reaching out to make a difference in our community.  Expectations for students go beyond the curriculum.  Creating a Christian community and preparing students to carry this beyond school is our primary goal.  We have been progressing well in the implementation of the new Ministry initiatives in the areas of curriculum and assessment and are reaching our goals in this process.

Involving our parents continues to be an important aspect of our school life.  Parents are encouraged to participate in School Council, fundraising activities, classroom volunteer program and any other areas where a need or interest may lie.  Contact with staff is a phone call away and parents are encouraged to take advantage of this.

Our Letter to You:

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to St. Ambrose Catholic School for what we hope will be the best year ever!

A great year means keeping in mind that we are a family where all members care for one another – a family where each of us can grow, learn, and be proud of our accomplishments.

Remember to treat one another with respect.  Continue to be a responsible student by doing all of the things that are asked of you.  Help keep St. Ambrose a place of pride and the extraordinary school that our community has come to know.

Work hard as children of God and know that the staff at St. Ambrose School are here to foster your talents and strengths and cheer you on as you continue to grow as responsible Catholic citizens.  Remember…

“We form a circle of hope.

We pass the flame to one another.

If my candle goes out, yours will light it.

Together we make a brighter light…

and each candle promises something of its own:

that darkness is not the last word.”

                                                                                                                          David McCauley

We extend a warm welcome to all members of our school community!

Kind regards,

Staff of St. Ambrose Catholic School
